Rain Belongs in the Downspout
Thorough gutter cleanouts that stop overflow before it becomes water damage or a foundation problem. Serving Happy Valley, Portland, Oregon City, Gresham, and Damascus.
What a clogged gutter does to an Oregon home
Around Portland, gutters earn their keep. Fall fills them with leaves and needles, and then the wet season asks them to move months of steady rain. When the channel is blocked, that water does not disappear. It goes over the edge, down your siding, and into the ground right beside your foundation.
- 01
Overflow
Water sheets over the gutter edge in every storm instead of flowing to the downspout, streaking siding and soaking everything below the roofline.
- 02
Water damage
Constant overspill keeps the edges of your home wet, and in this climate wet wood and wet walls do not get a chance to recover between storms.
- 03
Foundation issues
Roof water dumped at the base of the house pools against the foundation, which is exactly where you least want it collecting winter after winter.
Our cleanouts are thorough for a reason: preventing all three is the entire point of the service. A half-scooped gutter that still holds a mat of wet needles is not really cleaned, it is just tidier. The job is done when water can travel the whole run and exit the downspout the way the system was designed to work.
Built for Oregon rain, run like a family business
We are local Oregon experts. We know what Pacific Northwest weather does to a property, and our methods are built for Oregon conditions. Gutters here are not a nice-to-have. They are the system standing between months of rain and your foundation.
Bear Property Services is brother owned and operated, and it shows in how the work gets done. No pressure sales, straightforward pricing, and honest assessments. If you tell us what is going on with your gutters, we will tell you plainly what they need.
Gutter cleaning questions, answered
Why do clogged gutters cause foundation problems?
A gutter's whole job is moving roof water away from the house. When the channel is packed with debris, water pours over the edge and lands right at the base of your walls instead. Keeping gutters clear is how you prevent that overflow and the water damage and foundation issues that follow it.
How do I know my gutters need cleaning?
Watch them during a good rain. Water sheeting over the edge, a downspout that barely trickles, or visible debris sitting above the gutter line all mean the system is blocked and overflowing instead of draining.
Is a cleanout worth it if my gutters look fine from the ground?
Often, yes. Debris builds up inside the channel where you cannot see it from below, especially near trees. Our cleanouts are thorough because a gutter that looks clean but drains poorly still overflows in the next storm.
What areas do you serve for gutter cleaning?
Happy Valley, Portland, Oregon City, Gresham, Damascus, and surrounding areas throughout the greater Portland metro region.
Gutters full of moss? Look up.
A mossy roof sheds debris straight into the gutters below it. Our roof washing deals with the source and carries a 3-year moss-free warranty. And if overflow has already streaked your walls or stained the concrete below, house washing and pressure washing clean up the evidence.
